I have had the opportunity to meet many people who have taken traditional piano lessons, some for many years, who want to be able to read chord charts and lead sheets.  With the rise in "worship and praise" music at churches, many people want to be able to participate in playing praise and worship but are intimidated by the chord chart.  Or, they can play as long as the music is there, but the chart is still a mystery.
Whether you want to play the praise and worship music that you hear on the radio or want to help out at your church, being accomplished at chord chart reading is essential.
If you can read music and have a basic understanding of the piano, this course is for you.  If you are more advanced but still need to read chord charts and lead sheets, especially at sight, this course is also for you.  

Course Summary

Learn how to take your piano skills to the next level by becoming a skilled chord chart reader. In this course, you will learn to read from a standard chord chart or lead sheet and utilize that chart to play a piano solo, accompany a singer, play with a praise band or even begin to lead a praise team.

Course Curriculum

Chris Winston

Chris Winston is a professional musician and recording artist with many years of experience.  After receiving his degree in piano from North Texas, Chris began his professional career in earnest.  He is a published composer of hundreds of works that are currently heard world wide on television and film.  His credits include the theme song for a long running DIY show (Barnwood Builders), an international advertising campaign (Hyundai Winter Sales Event), movies and movie trailers (Death Wish: Bruce Willis) and works for ABC (Madam Secretary), HBO, Cinemax and Showtime and Netflix.  

Chris has been a Director of Church Music for many years and leads ensembles on a weekly basis.
